Albert Guillén i Fàbregas is a Professor at the 
            
University of Cambridge, a Fellow of 
Emmanuel College and a 
            Distinguished Researcher (part-time) at 
 Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. He 
            received the Telecommunication Engineering Degree and the Electronics Engineering Degree 
            from 
 Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and 
 Politecnico di Torino, respectively in 1999, 
            and the PhD from 
École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 2004. 
            He has held appointments at the 
New Jersey Institute of Technology, Telecom Italia, 
            
European Space Agency, 
Institut Eurécom, 
University of South Australia, and 
Universitat Pompeu 
            Fabra (
ICREA Research Professor). He is a recipient of Starting, Consolidator, Advanced and Proof of Concept 
            Grants from the 
European Research Council. He is a 
            Fellow of the 
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Fellow of the 
            
Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA), Editor of 
Foundations and Trends in 
            Communications and Information Theory (Now Publishers) and previously of the IEEE 
            Transactions on Information Theory (2013-2020) and IEEE Transactions on Wireless 
            Communications (2007-2011). He was a General co-Chair of the 2016 IEEE International 
            Symposium on Information Theory, Barcelona and a Technical Program Committee 
            (TPC) co-chair of the 2013 IEEE Information Theory Workshop, Sevilla, the 2023 IEEE 
            International Symposium on Information Theory, Taiwan and the 2025 London Symposium on 
            Information Theory, Cambridge.
